Welcome Travelers and Locals!
At Te Paranui we are always looking for help and support to keep the animals happy and to care for the permaculture gardens!
Our volunteers have a designated area in the cosy heated Tiny Cottage ‘little paradies’ (sleeps 4), a converted 1957 Bedford bus with fire place to hang out in colder weather, a separate single bedroom for our long-term volunteer, the EARTHBOUND Kitchen as a community space to prepare delicious plant-based meals and lots of places around the gardens and paddocks to chill and enjoy the company of all our animals in the serenity and stunning wildlife scenery of the pristine Para Wetlands just 10 minutes drive away from Blenheim or Picton!
We offer our living-in volunteers 3 whole food plant-based meals prepared from fresh food and dried ingredients and accommodation in the Tiny Cottage in exchange for 5 hours of your time!
Volunteers are helping with:
- feeding animals
- walking the dogs
- cleaning enclosures
- collecting manure
- brushing horses
- moving hay
- planting/digging/weeding/harvesting in the garden
- maintaining the grounds
- building structures for the animals
- fixing gates/fences
- preparing plant-based whole food meals
If you are local we appreciate your dedication to care for animals and plants and to help us keep this project alive in your area! Please let us know how much time you can spent on a regular basis and make sure you join our community lunch in the EARTHBOUND Kitchen when you come and help for the day!
